I have been looking through an old photo album as part of my Alchemy studies - these are some sketches I made on tissue paper with pen and paint then stitched into a concertina book - an initial experiment...

White embroidery

My white embroidered cloth is nearly finished. There are some seams to join and embroider and some more titivating to do. It is laid out on my bench now so I see it every time I go into the studio. It will be finished soon.

Photo apps ...

Have been introduced to an app for photos this morning and I couldn't resist having a quick play around with it. It's called InstaCollage and collages your photos!! These photos are from my Alchemy group sketchbook and have given me some new ideas for transforming them into embroidery....

Alchemy 2013

I am taking part in Karen Ruane's Alchemy 2013 course and have been having lots of fun filling up sketchbook pages around my theme of Reminisence. I was given an old photo album which belonged to my Grandma which is providing the inspiration for my artwork along with sewing tools and vintage cloths that also belonged to her.
